So so delicious! Try the Penne Brasciola (spelled incorrectly, sorry!) or the pesto - so so worth the carbs! The chocolate cream pie was so good as was the cannoli as well.

Try it, you won't be disappointed!

We came for dinner before going to Clifton Performance Theatre. You could pass by the outside if you didn't know it was here. The interior is nice and simple. Loved rewarding the history of the restaurant.
My husband got the salad with shrimp on it. The shrimp was prepared perfectly - not too much oil.
Our son got a Caesar salad - he liked a lot and a tuna sandwich. I was shocked about the sandwich since he loves Italian food.
I got the tilapia dinner that comes with a salad. The house salad was great and I got the dressing on the side. Their garlic dressing is made in house - you can tell. They should sell it! It's great!! The tilapia  is pan seared - cooked very well with vegetables and then home-made fettuccini. The dinner made 3 meals. The pasta was great. But, too much oil!!! That's why the 4/5

"Carb loading for a marathon" is just my excuse to binge eat pasta without feeling guilty about it.

Anyways, me and my sisters stopped by Biagio's for a pre-race carb-up prior to running the 2018 Flying Pig marathon.  It doesn't look like much from the outside, and inside, the ambience isn't exactly great either.  You could rename Biagio's to "Generic Italian Restaurant #5" and no one would bat an eye.

However, the food here is great!  We honestly weren't expecting much, but all of us were very pleasantly surprised at how tasty everything was.  We started off with an appetizer of their artichoke dip - the dip was super garlicky (in a good way) and tasted strongly of artichoke.  It came with toasted pita chips, and when we devoured all our pita but still had some dip leftover, they brought us more chips, gratis.  Nice!

I ordered the Pesto Pasta with shrimp.  For about $18, you get a TON of pasta.  Like, enough for probably 2-3 meals if you're a normal human being (that being said, I cleaned my entire plate).  The pesto pasta was good, but I sampled both of my sisters' pasta dishes and had some serious food envy.  My sister's Seafood Alfredo was excellent - lots of seafood and plenty of crabmeat - and my other sister's Penne Boscaiola had a beautiful, chunky tomato sauce with plenty of ground beef.

My only gripe with the pasta dishes is that they're quite heavy with the sauce and oil.  But the flavor is on point and the portions are huge.

OVERALL: 4/5.  I really enjoyed my meal here - delicious pasta and hearty servings.  It might not look like much from the outside, but give Biagio's a shot!

What a gem of an Italian restaurant. The husband and I stopped in to feed our pasta craving and were not disappointed. The Waldorf salad was out of this world tasty (it is listed as a specialty). I would have liked my apple chunks a little smaller, but that is a quibble at best. I opted for the pesto pasta- fettuccine noodles with the best olive oil/pesto/parmigiana mix a carb loader could ask for. And the portion was huge! Definitely enough for a take home box. Cincinnati is definitely scarce when it comes to Italian restaurants that deliver delicious and authentic Italian food for reasonable prices. This place more than fits the bill.  Do yourself a favor and get in there already.

Must try to tomato basil soup. Large portions and good prices. DO NOT SKIP DESSERT!  The home made cream pies are to die for. Biagio is a great host as well. He is owner and chef; you can watch him cook your meal right at the counter.
